Rửa sạch khổ qua (mướp đắng), nạo sạch toàn bộ phần ruột bên trong và cho vào nước sôi luộc khoảng 1 phút. Nhớ cho thêm 1 chút dầu ăn và một chút muối vào đó.
Khoai tây gọt vỏ, rửa sạch, cắt hạt lựu cho vào luộc hoặc có thể dùng lò vi sóng để hầm nhừ.
Thịt heo bằm ướp muối, bọt ngọt, hạt nêm, hành tím băm. Cà rốt gọt vỏ, rửa sạch, băm nhỏ như hình bên.
Bắc chảo lên bếp, cho thịt và cà rốt vào xào chung, nêm nếm lại theo khẩu vị.
Cho hỗn hợp cà rốt vào chén khoai tây đã hầm nhừ. Trộn đều.
Dùng đũa, muỗng nhồi hỗn hợp nhân đó vào ruột quả mướp đắng.
Đợi khoảng 15 phút sau, dùng dao cắt thành từng miếng vừa ăn. Lúc này trông chúng thật giống những miếng Kimbab phải không nào.
